Fire Trucks!

Now that I'm caught up for the year, I'll post about things happening now. Cody's birthday was June 7 and this was really his first year for a friend party. We went to the Allendale fire station and got a tour by Mandy's husband, Rick. The kids had a blast at the Fire Station and Cody got a hat from his Buddy(Grandpa Tietz) that was specially made from him. It had his name on it and engine 55 which is from Fire House Dog. Cody loves that hat. After the fire station, we all came back to our house and did a pinata, presents, cake and ice cream sandwich's. The cakes were individual Fire Engines I made. They were very difficult to make but once they were done, they were worth the effort. Cody got a lot of firetrucks for his birthday this year and plays with them every single day! He also got a fire coat that we have hanging up in his room next to his hat so when there's a fire, he can get to it quickly! Also Dave, Scott's brother gave him a real working firehose nozzle and he pretends to put out fires with it!

We took the fire coat and hat and nozzle to the Kentwood Fire Station yesterday. Cody was able to see their engine 55 and get his picture taken with it and with Kentwood's Fire Chief. He was having a blast then the firefighters came back from a medic call and made his year. They saw his nozzle and hooked it up to their hose. Cody had his hat and coat on and they helped him spray water out the back of the fire house! Cody loved it and Megan got in the action too. They sprayed me and my Dad while we were getting a thousand pictures! After that they gave us a tour of the firehouse and let us basically do anything we wanted. I think they were bored because they kept asking if we wanted to do something else. Cody was so excited when he was done, he could barely contain himself. We called Scott so Cody could tell him and he didn't stop talking for 5 minutes straight. I don't think with how fast he was talking that Scott was able to understand half of what was being said!
