Memorial Day

For Memorial Day we went to Chicago with Scott's family. We stayed in Elmhurst and took the Metra into downtown from there. Getting from the train station to the Shedd aquarium took over an hour because we waited for a free trolley to take use there. Everyone else in Chicago I think was also going there because it took forever! Once we got there it was a lot of fun! We watched the dolphin show and looked at all the neat exhibits. My favorite was the dolphin show and Beluga whales. After the Shedd, we took a water taxi to Navy Pier and Scott, Megan, his parents, and James and Sara all rode the Ferris Wheel. I hate them and so I took Cody on the train ride down by the water. Dave, Allison, and Betsy stayed down where people belong also. Once we were done with that, we went to the Lego Store and American Girl Store. The men of the group really loved this part of the trip! Cody bought himself a Lego firetruck with money he earned at home and Megan bought Kit a soccer outfit at the American Girl Store. On Sunday we went to Schaumburg to IKEA and Woodfield Mall. Scott loved going to IKEA and putting the shopping cart on it's own escalator. We ate dinner at Rainforest Cafe, which the kids love going to. They did not like the thunderstorms but enjoyed everything else! On Monday we went mini-golfing before heading home. That was a great weekend!
