Spring Break

Every year we go to Emerald Isle, North Carolina for Spring break to see Brianna and stay in their beach house. It is an 18 hour drive and each year the kids get better and better. This year Scott's parents came and we rode with them down. They have a DVD player in their van so the kids watched tv all the way down and never really complained. We love going there at that time of year. The island is not busy at all during that time so we basically have the beach to ourselves! My favorite part of going is see Anna and then also going to Harkers Island. From there we either go to Schackleford Banks or Cape Lookout Lighthouse. This year we went to the lighthouse and had a family picture taken. It turned out great except Scott's leg sticks out funny! We also went to the aquarium where we had the kids take a class and they got to learn about Alligators. At the end of the class, they got to touch a baby Alligator. They both did and so did Scott but I was too chicken! We also went to Fort Macon at the other end of the island and looked around there. We do it every year but every time we discover something different that we haven't seen before! We picked up Anna in New Bern after seeing the Fire Museum and brought her back to the beach house with us. Anna was able to stay with us until we left Saturday morning then BC picked her up. It was good to see her, she is getting so big! I love this trip and look forward to it every year! It's good to get away and relax there after such a long winter!
